In a pot by Peety Pots by Pablo In its high-alpine habitat, growth occurs during the short, relatively moist summer. It is extremely cold-tolerant but requires a strictly dry winter rest to withstand freezing temperatures without rotting.
Origin
High-altitude Andes of Bolivia and Southern Peru. It is a characteristic species of the Puna biome, growing on rocky, volcanic slopes and cold, windswept plateaus (Altiplano) at elevations between 3,500 and 4,500 meters.
