Notes
This species is a summer grower, though it is notoriously sensitive to overwatering. It often blooms in late winter or early spring, but its main vegetative growth occurs during the warmer months. It requires a dry winter dormancy.
Origin
Central Mexico, specifically found in the border region between the states of Jalisco and Aguascalientes (and potentially Zacatecas). It typically grows on steep volcanic rock faces and cliffs, often in the company of other succulents and xerophytic vegetation.
