This is a summer-growing Gasteria from a summer-rainfall region. It is most active during the warm, wet months. In cultivation, it is highly opportunistic and will grow whenever warmth and light are available, but it should be kept drier during the winter.
Origin
South Africa, Mpumalanga Province. This specific form originates from the vicinity of Barberton, growing on steep, shaded rocky cliffs and forested mountain slopes in the Barberton Mountainlands (part of the Makhonjwa Mountains). It is the northernmost species of the genus, typically found in crevices of quartzitic rock.
