Opportunistic / Spring and Autumn (While often listed as a summer grower due to summer rainfall in parts of its range, it dislikes extreme heat. It grows best during the milder temperatures of spring and autumn and can be dormant during the hottest part of summer).
Origin: South Africa, specifically widespread across the Eastern Cape and KwaZulu-Natal provinces. It typically grows in "thicket" vegetation, scrambling through bushes or on rocky slopes in shale or sandstone soils.
