Origin: Northern Chile, Atacama Region. This specific form is found in Quebrada Guanillos (a canyon/valley system) located near the coast, north of the town of Taltal and south of Esmeralda. It grows in extremely arid, rocky terrain, often on north-facing slopes exposed to coastal fog.
