Notes
As with the rest of the genus, it relies on the camanchaca fog for moisture, which is most frequent in the winter and spring months, though it remains opportunistic whenever moisture is available.
Origin
Northern Chile, Antofagasta Region. This form is endemic to the coastal desert north of Taltal, specifically centered around the area of Blanco Encalada and Botija. It grows on rocky hillsides and gravelly coastal plains in extremely arid conditions.
