Acquired: about 1 month ago

Like the type species, it is highly opportunistic, but in habitat, its primary growth and rehydration occur during the cooler, fog-heavy months of winter and early spring.

Origin: Northern Chile, Antofagasta Region. This variety is endemic to the coastal hills and mountains north of the town of Taltal, specifically around the entrance to the Quebrada San Ramon. It grows on rocky, sun-exposed slopes in one of the most arid environments on Earth, relying on coastal fog for moisture.
