Consistent with the species, this cultivar grows primarily during the warm summer rainy season. It is exceptionally slow-growing and requires a strictly dry winter dormancy.
Origin
This is a selected form of the wild species Ariocarpus retusus, which is native to north-central and northeastern Mexico. The "Inverted V" cultivar is prized for the distinct, V-shaped white line or markings on the surface of its triangular tubercles.
