White Rhino Agave
Acquired: 5 months ago(11/22/2025)
As a Chihuahuan Desert native, its main growth period is during the summer monsoonal rains. However, it is highly opportunistic and will grow during the warm shoulder seasons if moisture is available. It is exceptionally slow-growing and requires a dry winter dormancy.
Origin: North-central Mexico. The species is endemic to the Chihuahuan Desert, specifically in the Huasteca Canyon (Cañón de la Huasteca) and the surrounding Sierra Madre Oriental near Monterrey, Nuevo León. It grows on steep limestone cliffs and rocky slopes. The "albo marginata" form is a rare, variegated selection characterized by crisp white edges along the leaf margins.
