Succulent to 1'H × 1-2' W. Full sun, low water, well-drained to poor soil. Slow growing species, leaves have sharp terminal spine, and shorter curly haired margins.

Origin: Native to Northern and Central Mexico. This specific cultivar, 'Durango Delight', was selected by Greg Starr from seed collected along Highway 40 (the Mazatlán-Durango highway) in the Sierra Madre Occidental mountains, near the border of Sinaloa and Durango.
