Aeonium sedifolium
Aeonium sedifolium
Acquired: 3 months ago(1/6/2026)
This species is a winter grower, adapted to the Mediterranean-Atlantic winter rainfall of the Canary Islands. It is summer-deciduous, meaning it closes its rosettes into small, tight balls and enters a deep dormancy during the hot, dry summer months.
Origin: Canary Islands, Spain, specifically endemic to the island of Tenerife (in the northwestern and southern parts, e.g., the Teno and Adeje mountains). It grows on rocky slopes, cliffs, and in basaltic rock crevices in dry, coastal scrub or sub-tropical transition zones.
