Notes

While its main vegetative growth occurs during the warm summer rainy season, it is known for being a very slow grower. It requires a strictly dry and cool dormancy during the winter months to remain healthy.

Origin

Northeastern Mexico, endemic to the state of Nuevo León. It is found specifically in the vicinity of Rayones, growing on steep limestone cliffs and rocky slopes in semi-desert scrub. It is a geophytic species, often growing almost entirely buried in the soil or rock crevices.
