In a clay pot from Stone and Succulent by A. Rivera While its main vegetative growth occurs during the warm summer rainy season, it is known for being a very slow grower. It requires a strictly dry and cool dormancy during the winter months to remain healthy.
Origin: Northeastern Mexico, endemic to the state of Nuevo León. It is found specifically in the vicinity of Rayones, growing on steep limestone cliffs and rocky slopes in semi-desert scrub. It is a geophytic species, often growing almost entirely buried in the soil or rock crevices.
