HBG 47681 ISI 2024-23 ex Charles Uhl 4/82 Topotype. Coll.: Clausen 80-24-1: Mexico; San Luís Potosí; 11 mi SE of Zaragosa, Ranchito de Juárez, 2100' on rocks among pines. Slow growing species. This species grows primarily during the warm, rainy summer months. It is a slow-growing succulent that prefers bright, indirect light and should be kept relatively dry during the cooler winter rest period.

Origin: Mexico, San Luis Potosí. This specific collection is a topotype (collected from the original locality where the species was first described) at Ranchito de Juárez, approximately 11 miles southeast of Villa de Zaragoza. It grows at an elevation of roughly 2,100 feet on rocky outcrops, often in the shade or filtered light provided by pine forests.
