Unlike its parent E. susannae, which can be winter-leaning, this hybrid typically grows most vigorously during the warm summer months. It is opportunistic and will grow whenever warmth and light are sufficient, but it should be kept drier during a cool winter rest.

Origin: This is a hybrid cultivar of garden origin, famously developed and distributed by Ed and Betty Gay in the mid-20th century. It is a cross between Euphorbia susannae and Euphorbia bupleurifolia. Both parent species are native to South Africa (E. susannae from the Little Karoo and E. bupleurifolia from the Eastern Cape/KwaZulu-Natal).
